From the rolling hills of new England to the sandy desert of Arizona a lot is NEW! I now have to start from the ground up. This means kissing new management ass and acting like I like a new set of comic's material. Back to some weekday gig in "Sh*t Shack Inn" at one in the afternoon in front of some goof ball yokels that doesn't even speak English and could care less if I tell jokes or put tassels on my nipples and sing "Born to be wild". You know, you work so hard to get to a certain point in your career to see it go to sh*t and have to start from day one.I'll let you know if I get lucky
Gigs through the week
Well I have come to realize Arizona suck big wet ass for comedy. There isn’t a decent club to perform at or even a decent crowd that would want to hear a damn thing you have to say. To put it another way the crowd would rather have acupuncture on their eyeballs than sit through a night of comedy.
All the places I have been to are pretty much on the top ten list of places not to have comedy. The lighting is poor, the sound system was made by E.T. and the stage is … well .. its not a f*cking stage. Your standing next to bartender serving drinks, taking orders stuff like that, trying to talk over the everybody in the bar and the jokes go up like a lead balloons. Its like I have died and gone to comic HELL!
PLEASE STOP THE BURNING … ITS BURNING ME ALIVE ... OH DOES IT EVER STOP ! !
On that note, I am still on the move looking for the room that Arizona forgot and if I find it I will definitely let you all know because the rooms I have listed are nothing you would want to take a date out to, or even your mother-in-law.
The next stop in The Improv in Tempe. Hopefully with the reputation of this club it will be a good show. Wish me luck!
